Motivational Speaker
From Hay Bales to Hardwood
Former WNBA Player, Speaker, and Educator
From a sixth-generation farm in Arlington, Nebraska, to competing on the world’s biggest basketball stages, her life is a story of resilience built over time. A state champion and All-State athlete, she earned a full scholarship to Iowa State University before launching a six-year professional career with teams around the globe including three seasons in the WNBA with the Sacramento Monarchs and San Antonio Silverstars. She competed in seven countries, won championships in Europe and Australia, and traveled to 68 nations — exploring cultures, serving communities, and gaining a global perspective on leadership and teamwork. After retiring at 30, she spent 11 years living and teaching in Tokyo, mentoring and coaching the next generation across Asia. Today, she shares the life lessons forged through sport and travel — teaching audiences about growth through discomfort, the power of community, resilience in adversity, accepting your role, creating a positive culture, persevering through hardship, and patiently waiting while continuing to work— even when no one is watching. Rooted in strong personal values and faith, she reminds people that their identity is bigger than wins, promotions, money, fame or comparison. She calls them to be kind, inclusive, and servant-hearted — to choose courage over comfort, to lift others up, and to create spaces where everyone belongs. Her message is simple but powerful: success isn’t built in the spotlight — it’s built in the unseen moments when you choose to stay ready, stay faithful, and keep going. No matter the speaking event or audience, she will tailor each event according to the goals that you are trying to achieve.
