My Journey
I was raised a farm girl and first learned to shoot hoops in the hay loft of my family’s barn. That humble beginning shaped my work ethic and competitive spirit, leading me to become a standout high school athlete, a Division I player at Iowa State University, and eventually a professional competing in the WNBA and international leagues across six countries.
Today, I serve as a teacher and motivational speaker, inspiring youth, business professionals, and faith-based audiences with a message centered on transforming lives from the inside out.
From my sixth-generation family farm in Arlington, Nebraska to competing on some of the world’s biggest basketball stages, my life has been a story of resilience built over time. As a state champion and All-State athlete, I earned a full scholarship to Iowa State before launching a six-year professional career that included three seasons in the WNBA with the Sacramento Monarchs and the San Antonio Silver Stars.
I competed in seven countries, won championships in Europe and Australia, and traveled to 68 nations—exploring cultures, serving communities, and gaining a global perspective on leadership and teamwork.
After retiring at 30, I spent 11 years living and teaching in Tokyo, mentoring and coaching the next generation across Asia.
Today, I share the life lessons forged through sport and travel—teaching audiences about growth through discomfort, the power of community, resilience in adversity, accepting your role, persevering through hardship, and patiently waiting while continuing to work.
My message is simple but powerful: success isn’t built in the spotlight—it’s built in the unseen moments when you choose to stay ready, stay faithful, and keep going.

"If I can go from shooting hoops in a barn to the world stage, so can you."
